BioscienceLA hosted the inaugural LABioTechWeek in 2021, with the aim to introduce a broader audience to life science and biotech initiatives in the greater LA region. In 2022, we partnered again with other notable biotech organizations in Los Angeles to bring a week of events to life with the mission to generate regional momentum for collaboration and innovation. 5th Annual LA County Bioscience Forum
Our focus in 2022 was on workforce pipeline opportunities in life sciences in the region, as a way to bring together the public and private sectors. While we wanted to show alignment of partners and strengthen workforce opportunities in the biotech industry in Los Angeles County, our goal was to provide a call to action on how the local biotech industry can get involved. Heal.LA Demo Day w/ Larta Institute
Heal.LA is a new collaborative initiative to improve the health & wellness of Los Angeles County and beyond. BioscienceLA hosted Larta Institute, Heal.LA Organizational Partners, Heal.LA Steering Committee, and other ecosystem leaders for the 2022 Heal.LA Demo Day.

Hosted by Los Angeles County Economic Development Corporation (LAEDC) and Los Angeles Regional Consortium (LARC), this was an opportunity to strengthen relationships and communication between industry leaders and college faculty, identifying trends in skills and competencies, and building efficient talent development programs.

8th Annual Biotech Summit
This year, the Summit explored the “Future of Biotech in Los Angeles.” The keynote speaker was Sumant Ramachandra, President and CEO of ImmPACT Bio. One panel discussion focused on “The Future of Non-Healthcare Biotech” followed by a panel on “Homegrown CEOs - A discussion with LA Founders.” BCLA also curated networking opportunities and breakout sessions with biotech industry mentors and startup advisors.
