A brief Biography

Stephanie Hsieh serves as interim CEO.   Her career has been steeped in biotech, as an experienced entrepreneur, biopharma executive, board director, investor, and patent attorney.  She has built a reputation for building understanding and consensus by reframing issues and making complex information relatable and thrives on engaging with a wide variety of stakeholders and bringing together diverse perspectives into actionable and efficient solutions.

Prior to joining BioscienceLA, Steph was Executive Director of Biocom California's Los Angeles office, where she spearheaded efforts to transform the Los Angeles region into a premier life science "mega-hub."  As part of these efforts, she co-founded and was the driving force behind the GrowLABio coalition, gaining recognition by the Los Angeles Business Journal as one of L.A.'s "most influential leaders and impactful executives in Los Angeles."

In addition to serving as BioscienceLA's CEO, Stephanie currently serves as an independent director on the boards of public and private corporations, in the biotech, fintech and banking industries, as well as global, nonprofit organizations with an emphasis on women and girls leadership.

Stephanie graduated magna cum Laude, Phi Beta Kappa, and Sigma Xi from Wellesley College, received a JD from Columbia Law School as a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar, and holds an MBA from Stanford’s Graduate School of Business.
